Feasibility Study on Altanshiree 400 MW Thermal Power Plant to be built in Dornogobi Aimag

MonEnegry prepared the feasibility study on the 400 MW Thermal Power Plant to be built in Altanshiree Soum of Dornogobi Aimag (province), Mongolia. The scope of the feasibility study includes the following tasks: (i) to assess the current situation of the Mongolian energy sector, the energy sector development trends, and the power demand in the southern region and the central regions; (ii) to select the power plant construction site, to make the site general planning, study and assessment of the site geography, soil condition, geology, hydrogeology, and geotechnical conditions; (iii) to prepare the environment baseline study and assessment report for the construction site of the power plant; (iv) to make the coal supply planning for the power plant; (v) to make the water supply planning and resource assessment for the power plant; (vi) to make the power plant general planning; (vii) to selection the power plant technologies and main equipment, and conceptual designs of the power plant; (viii) to make the grid connection study and stability analysis of the power plant, grid connection scheme, and regime calculations; (ix) to assess the possible impacts of the power plant to the environment, and to define the environment protection measures to mitigate the impact; (x) to assess the project investment cost, the financial and economic analysis of the power plant.
